Literature Text
I've lost the stars to vain intellectual pursuits;
That grey matter which once thread loose phantasms between sparse illuminations
Now weaves arguments, buzzing to remember -
Through myopic alleys of quotations, and
the harsh names of dead philosophers -
A celestial bulb, blinking SOS messages to a compassionate,
Cordoned-off section of shallower youth.
The cosmos was much, much more infinite,
More detached, still massive,
Still visible.
That grey matter which once thread loose phantasms between sparse illuminations
Now weaves arguments, buzzing to remember -
Through myopic alleys of quotations, and
the harsh names of dead philosophers -
A celestial bulb, blinking SOS messages to a compassionate,
Cordoned-off section of shallower youth.
The cosmos was much, much more infinite,
More detached, still massive,
Still visible.
